I am a flutist Brazilian with a Doctoral degree in Music Performance at UMKC. I have a master's degree and a bachelor's degree in flute performance from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil, and a Performance Certificate from the University of Wyoming.
As an orchestra musician, I've been the principal flute of the Goiânia Symphony for three years, where I performed with renowned conductors and soloists. I also served as flutists of the Youth Symphony of Minas Gerais, UWYO Symphony Orchestra, George Mason Orchestra, UMKC orchestra and guest musician at Midwest Chamber Orchestra.
My teaching experience includes a position as a flute teacher at the Conservatory Heitor Villa-Lobos, Graduate Assistant at the Federal University of Minas Gerais and Lecturer at George Mason University, and teaching in flute conferences in Brazilian universities. I was also the director of the First Flute Fair of Varginha.
I have given solo and chamber music performance in Brazil and the USA and has performed as a soloist with the Minas Gerais Symphony Orchestra, Goiania Symphony Orchestra, CEMVA chamber orchestra, and University of Wyoming Symphony Orchestra. I won prizes as a soloist – Minas Gerais Symphony Orchestra Solo Competition and Dorothy Jacob Soloist Competition – and national and international chamber music competitions – Villa Lobos Festival Chamber Music Competition, National Competition for Young Musicians, BDMG, and Young talent of Ouro Branco Competition. I performed in international masterclasses with the following flutists: Jacques Zoon, Carol Wincenc, Gary Shocker, and Michel Bellavance. I also attended the Imani Winds Chamber Music Festival in New York at Juilliard School in 2013, where I premiered pieces by contemporary composers.
